Casting Call

We are casting for 3 roles in a new film by artists Karen Mirza and Brad Butler.

No previous acting experience is required and we are interested in hearing from anybody who feels they may have something to contribute to this project. This exciting new project will be a keynote commission for Film and Video Umbrella, which will have its cinema release in 2012 and features a script by renowned Science Fiction author, China MiƩville.

The project takes its starting point in different historical moments of political unrest, revolution and rioting, informed particularly by the revolutionary processes that recently took place in Egypt.

We are looking for people for the parts of Male Narrator, Dictator Astronaut and ‘Riotonaut’.  Descriptions of these parts are available in the Registration Pack.

Intern opportunities

Our internships are an opportunity to gain experience of working in a busy arts organisation office and to gain insight into the day-to-day operations of Film and Video Umbrella.  The role is intended to offer insight into all aspects of our operations including marketing and press, website and e-communications, social media, working with the physical and digital archives plus, general arts administration.
This is an excellent opportunity for anybody thinking of pursuing a career in arts administration or management to gain first-hand experience and develop valuable transferrable skills.

Internships are available on an ongoing basis either independently or as a placement towards a university course.
Expenses only/2 days a week/3-month placement
