Anne Bjerge Hansen
Born in Denmark, Anne Bjerge Hansen currently lives and works in Glasgow. Highlighting low-key, often overlooked events, and concentrating on fleeting, fragmentary details, Bjerge Hansen’s work catalogues these haunting, transient moments with a captivating brevity and clarity.
In 2002 Film and Video Umbrella worked with Bjerge Hansen to commission ‘Interludes’. This furthered the artist’s ongoing series of video works, with each of the commissioned works responding to the locations of the exhibition tour. The project was accompanied by a major publication of the same name.
Hansen’s work has been shown extensively in the UK. Her Film and Video Umbrella project toured to Angel Row Gallery, Nottingham, Focal Point Gallery, Southend-on-Sea; ArtSway, Hampshire; Usher Gallery, Lincoln and Brewhouse Theatre and Arts Centre, Taunton. She has also exhibited at Glasgow Independent Studio and undertaken a residency at the Scottish Sculpture Workshop.
