Nick Crowe and Ian Rawlinson
Nick Crowe and Ian Rawlinson have collaborated since 1994, developing a diverse body of work together. More recently, their collaborations have focused on the complexities of faith and the transformative potential of fire and light.
Film and Video Umbrella first worked with Nick Crowe in 2002 as part of ‘Identinet’, a collection of web-based artwork. Subsequently, in 2007, both artists were commissioned for the video work ‘The Carriers’ Prayer’. This piece premiered as part of a large solo exhibition at FACT, Liverpool, and toured to Newlyn Art Gallery, Penzance, in 2009.
Based in Berlin, Crowe is represented by Ceri Hand Gallery, Liverpool and Axel Lapp Projects, Berlin. In addition to his work with Rawlinson, Crowe was commissioned to make new work for the Whitstable Biennale in 2008. Other exhibitions include shows at CCA Glasgow; Cornerhouse, Manchester; and Chisenhale Gallery, London.
Rawlinson lives and works in Manchester and is represented by Ceri Hand Gallery, Liverpool.
