Simon Faithfull's 30km is included in the group exhibition At Altitude which takes a selective look at the history and appeal of the aerial image. Exhibited artists include Jananne Al-Ani, Tacita Dean, Cornelia Parker, Wolfgang Tillmans and others, with their included works spanning film, photography, painting, drawing, sculpture and installation.
FVU director Steven Bode has written an essay to accompany the exhibition.
In Faithfull's 2003 FVU commission, the artist sends his camera 30km into the air attached to a weather balloon where it glimpses the black void of space.
