Chris Zhongtian Yuan has been invited to present their new work Wuhan Punk (2020) for the final Frank Davis Memorial Lecture at The Courtauld. This lecture series has explored the theme of ‘Art in Quarantine: A Year On‘, and is organised by Dr Wenny Teo, Lecturer in Modern and Contemporary Art.
Using archive material and digital animation, Wuhan Punk ruminates on the disappearance of Mai Dian, the charismatic frontman of Wuhan punk group Si Dou Le, and acts as an unflinching love letter to the defiant spirit of the metropolis.
