advancing artists’ moving image

New on FVU Watch: You Know Nothing of My Work (2020) by Guy Oliver.

Taking its title from one of Woody Allen’s most famous films, You Know Nothing of My Work proceeds from the premise that we now know more than enough about the crimes and misdemeanours of some of the world’s most prominent cultural icons that any lingering affection anyone might still have for their art will likely be deeply problematic, to say the least. Now on FVU Watch: Aphonia (2024) by Sophie Hoyle

We’re delighted to launch FVU’s latest online commission by artist Sophie Hoyle, Aphonia (2024), on FVU Watch. The short film explores concepts of agency and presence in relation to aural/oral communication, addressing a need to widen understanding of diverse experiences and (dis)abilities — and how we can create spaces for a diversity of voices to be heard and felt.

Carey Young: Carey Young, Incorporated

The first publication devoted to the work of Carey Young, an artist whose work provocatively and playfully questions familiar notions of art as a mode of resistance and critique in a world of dissolving boundaries, in which the borders between politics, culture and business seem to have disappeared.
